This is Mariana DeWitt - college student, USMC brat, “unpaid” summer intern extraordinaire. Mariana’s work this summer for Nomadés as part of her college requirements for her degree has turned into a part time job.
Ana is a college senior at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia working towards a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Project Management. She worked as a summer intern for Nomadés, and we were so impressed by the fresh, younger perspective she is brought to the table, we hired her.
Before we allow her to make her debut as the Project Manager for our Stories From the Porch Blog...we turned the tables on her so she could share her story...from the porch.
We asked Mariana what was her inspiration for doing this project.
“Because my mom is on staff with Nomadés, I have grown up understanding the concept of this jewelry company. These military charms tell a story. Every single story is unique and there are probably no 2 stories just alike. When you have a bracelet, (I prefer the bangle bracelet) it affords you opportunities to have small discussions about places and adventures you have had. But I thought it would be great if Nomadés provided a platform to share our customers stories; to hear stories we would otherwise miss out on.”
Mariana was born at Camp Pendleton California and has lived in Okinawa Japan, Norfolk Virginia, Parris Island South Carolina and Quantico/Woodbridge Virginia.
We asked her what her favorite Nomadés military charm was and why?
“Parris Island- While stationed there was when I really began to understand what the Marine Corps was all about. It was eye-opening; understanding the training and dedication of Marines. It made me have more respect for my dad and the Corps, and what they do."
Mariana would love for you to share your story with us. If you would like to be featured on “Stories From the Porch”, please email info@nomadescollection.com
