Offutt Air Force Base can be found in the heart of the nation among the rolling hills of southeastern Nebraska, just south of Omaha. It is the headquarters of US Strategic Command, Air Force Weather Agency, and the 55th Wing, the largest wing within the Air Force's Air Combat Command. Since 1945, Nebraska's official state name has been “The Cornhusker State" after the nickname for the University of Nebraska’s athletic teams.
