We started Nomadés in 2009, but our stories began long before that. We were wives of Marines who served our great country, mothers of children who kept us on our toes, and friends to each other while traveling this crazy road. Through this common bond, our friendship grew. It was this friendship that inspired us to create something that women affiliated with the military could take with them as a meaningful keepsake and reflection of their own personal journey of that time in their life.
We know how challenging and rewarding it can be to move from one place to another, experience different cultures and lifestyles, face hardships and joys, make new friends, and say goodbye to old ones. We wanted to capture these moments and memories in our charms and military jewelry so that each woman can tell her story in her own personal style and unique way.
Our jewelry store has grown from a few simple hand-carved charms to a line of over 300 charms that represent the different places and milestones that this unique group may experience. From duty stations and deployments to holidays and hobbies to family and faith, we have something for everyone. As our Business Director Christy likes to say “We have a charm for that”. The reality is we have spent many hours trying to come up with “the perfect charm” for all the places and events our charms represent. Sometimes we know right away that it just “fits” and sometimes we have to send it back to the drawing board. No matter what, each military charm takes this journey to become part of our exclusive jewelry collection.
There is so much more that has gone into this company than just creating charms. And we know we could not have done it without the help we have received along the way. We are thankful for the great artists who design, handcraft, and hand paint our charms, the staff who keep us organized, fulfill our orders and manage the daily tasks behind the scenes, the consultants who connect us to our customers, and our customers who inspire us with their stories and ideas.
We are grateful to be able to share our story with you as we continue to add new chapters. Whether you are a spouse, a mother, a daughter, a sister, or a friend of someone who serves or has served, we want to help you share your story through our charms. We invite you to browse our charms and charm bracelets on our website, follow us on social media, and join our community of Nomadés. We would love to hear from you and share your story.
With gratitude,
Nomadés
